Twelve Hours Before Truce Ends, Israeli Official Says No Agreement On Extending Cease-Fire -- Haaretz



Israeli and Palestinian representatives in Cairo still trying to negotiate extension; senior official says Israel taking Hamas threats to renew fire very seriously.



With 12 hours to go until the expiration of the cease-fire in Gaza, a senior Israeli official said on Thursday that at this stage there is no agreement on extending the break in fighting between Israel and Hamas, and that Israel was taking very seriously Hamas threats to renew its rocket fire toward Israel when the truce ends.



As the clock ticked down, an Israeli delegation returned to Cairo on Thursday evening for another round of talks with Palestinian representatives in an attempt to negotiate an extension to the cease-fire, if not a permanent truce
